This Contemporary give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Not a full story--Wish authors would be honest about what they are giving away
Granted I got this for free, so I got what I paid for. I'm tired of authors not being honest about what they are giving away. If you are giving away a teaser to sell your upcoming book, be honest about it! I'm okay with short stories or novellas that tell a whole story but I get very annoyed with giving away something that stops in the middle in the hopes we will buy your book--UNLESS you label it as such. The writing itself was okay and might have made an acceptable romantic novel but I'm annoyed that the story stops in the middle. Bad marketing practice as far as I'm concerned. Doesn't endear me to the author. They advertised the free "book" months ago and it has been in my cue waiting to download since then. They had plenty of time to write an honest description and chose not to.
Updated 7/3/2013: I notice the description has now been updated to say that it is an intro to the novel that was released July 2, 2013. But I ordered the book on 2/11/13 and waited till...
2. Half a book
What's here is the first five chapters of a good contemporary romance. Nowhere did I find a mention that this was "book one" or when/where the rest of the story can be found. I found that very misleading and disappointing, as it left me in the middle of a story with no resolution in sight. The story is well written, the characters could use a little more fleshing out, but so far are pleasing and interesting. There is no real plot as of yet, except the attraction the hero feels for his son's nanny, and she for him, though they are both fighting it since she's his employee. I feel a bit cheated, and I'm glad this was free.
Heat factor moderate.

Teaser
I thought this was a complete book. I have no problem with short stories or novellas, but I have no patience with stories chopped up into smaller pieces, often in arbitrary fashion, for the purpose of hooking readers and/or making more money. Pen your story, and publish a full book. Kindle offers the option to download a sample, and really this is all this book is.
I found the story so far very predictable, so much so that I had feelings of déjà vu in places. The characters also need to be developed more fully, something that is difficult to achieve in such a short story. I doubt that I will bother picking up further instalments.
