Sher is an everyday woman who owns a deli in Colorado until one day
she finds herself being followed and then attacked by an unknown man.
And if that wasn't bad enough, the responding police officer is the
man she left without an explanation years ago. As they uncover
evidence, the two get closer. But will they both survive long
enough to see if their love for each other will last through time.
This is a novella with romance, intrigue and mystery.

This Suspense give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Story B+...grammer F
I need to start this review by telling you that I have a degree in English and, whether I want to or not, I "see" all the typos and missing words in the books that I read. Sometimes I drive myself nuts. And this book drove me batty!
The story is pretty good. The characters are fairly well drawn and I could get invested in them. The story itself isn't too bad, though at times it moves much too fast, and the bad guys are pretty obvious from the very beginning.
But the editor of this book should be ashamed of him/herself! Short choppy sentences. Verbs that change tenses in the same sentence. Sentences that are just phrases. It was very difficult to enjoy reading the story when you have to wade through all the bad grammer to understand what you're reading.
That being said...I have purchased the second book in the series : The Aspens Fall. I'm working on the theory that some lessons were learned in the writing and publishing of the first book.
2. The Aspen Series
I just finished reading all three of the books in the Aspen Series. Now, I'm wondering why I put myself through that three times. I don't think I've ever read a book that had so many typos, mispelled words and bad grammar it in. Just out of curiosity, when I started the third book, I kept a running total of how many errors I found. I found 19 just in the third book alone!! I'm sure if I were to go back and re-read it, I could find more. It's too bad there is not a minus rating on these books. I don't think I will ever read another one by this author.

Reads like a Dick & Jane book
Missing words, bad grammar and a lot of short sentences that just don't make sense. Reminds me a lot of the Dick & Jane books I read as a child. See Dick. See Dick run. This was a painful read!
