1. Mine for Tonight
PLOT: Simon is obsessed with Kara. When the opportunity to help her presents itself, he moves her into his apartment. All he asks is one night with her. Only he has to have complete control.
PROS: The chemistry between Kara and Simon is hot. Both characters have depth and feel well rounded.
CONS: It ends abruptly in a cliff hanger. Book 2 is called Mine For Now. Book 3 is Mine Forever. I haven't read those and I don't plan to. Nothing infuriates me more than a cliffhanger. I'm not a fan of this emerging trend of selling a portion of a story. I'd rather buy one longer story for four or five dollars than a group of short stories containing the same characters.
2 STARS and a big fat INCOMPLETE stamp: I actually enjoyed the story up until the end. Breaking this into different books would make sense if it were 200+ pages. There's no reason this can't be one story. Well, there is one: Money.
2. I didn't realise this was ANOTHER Trilogy
I'm glad I got this book for free as I was shocked when it ended with no conclusion and I then realised it was part of a trilogy.
Simon is a billionaire computer geek. He designs bestselling computer games. He does not like the social scene and is a loner. He doesn't have relationships but he does have sex. A year ago he saw Kara at his mothers restaurant where she worked as a waitress. He became obsessed with her and in a way stalked her for a year without her knowing. He would follow her home etc. One night whilst watching her he is surprised when she is wearing 'sexy' clothes so he follows her. Kara has had a virus that she has not recovered from and as she is walking back to her apartment she shares with another student, she feels faint and dizzy.
Simon helps her and takes her to his Condo and calls a Dr. He explains he is her boss's son but although she knows of him and his brother, she has never met them. Kara is a mature student and is in medical school...
Need more appointment... ?
So Frustrating!!!
I quite enjoyed the story-- a no brainer, quick entertaining read, then BAM. It's over--with no conclusion, you're just left hanging.
I refuse to be a part of purchasing unfinished stories!! If enough of us refuse to purchase these "Trilogies" maybe they will go by the wayside.
